IIT JAM has conduct total seven papers in India
All the seven papers of IIT JAM 2016 will be objective type, with three different patterns of question as given below

Multiple type questions (MCQ): Each Multiple choice questions has four choices out of four only one choice is the correct answer.

Multiple Select Questions (MSQ): Each MSQ type question is similar to MSQ but with a difference only one or two choice is correct out of the given four choices.


 Numerical Answer type (NAT) question:  For each NAT type question, the answer is a allot real number which needs to be entered using the illusive keypad on the monitor. An illusive calculator will also be available on the computer monitor. No choices will be shown for these types of questions.
